We went for lunch on the Sunday before Xmas and managed to get a booking for 1 pm after calling them at 11.30. We got a great table next to the fire in the main bar which was great.
It was a Xmas menu with plenty of choice including the traditional roasts. Being a vegetarian we went for the Broth soup and the veg shepherds pie. Xmas crackers were thrown in and the food was fantastic. The side dishes of veg were big and fantastic also.
Overall a great atmosphere, great food and great hospitality, you have to go. -

Really lovely location and well appointed garden. The food and service relentlessly good.
All this and retains the atmosphere of a local village pub.
